This is one of two warm-up gigs I taped as the Clash broke in new drummer Pete Howard for their US Festival performance. The first master, Wichita Falls May 19th, was re-done a year or so ago and this has been on the radar for a long time. After the close to zero security in Wichita Falls, San Antonio was much different atmosphere. Smoking was not allowed in the venue and that only increased the number of eyeballs watching the audience. Seats were within the first 10 or 15 rows and I came close to getting busted when a concert goer on my row a few seats away lit up, smoker was neutralized and taping seamlessly commenced. Shows were excellent and though Pete was not happy as his salary he fit right in and the newer songs sounded great. We got a wonderful added bonus as the Clash's friend Joe Ely joined for at least two songs, he may also be on "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" but I don't have a specific memory. Unlike the original master, this transfer was azimuth adjusted for the first time and mastered with 10+ years more experience and highly upgraded software. There are more of my masters I'm looking forward to performing a proper redo on but all in due time... Thanks to Goody for the pitch assistance making this also the first time we are 100% at the correct pitch. Artwork included... mjk5510
